It is a tempting prospective to be Befikar Umar Bhar (without a concern all of our life), and equally interesting to think about the stuff to do in such a life. While I’m constantly working towards achieving the above state, IDBI Federal Lifesurance gives me a chance to fantasize about my bucket list in a Befiqar life. So, without any further ado, I’ll let myself indulge a bit by visualizing five of the things I rounded off to be in my bucket list.

1.     Watch a Cricket Match featuring India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground: Being an ardent Cricket fan, I always longed to see a Cricket Match in Australia, known for the pace and the bounce the pitches there have on offer. The latest World Cup match between Australia and England made me swoon all over again on the G. I’m sure the experience would be quite heady if one of India’s matches takes place over there, preferably against Pakistan. At this point, I don’t care about who wins that match if I ever get a chance to watch it, but once I’m in there, I would become a bit more greedy.

2.     Own a Movie Bar cum Library in Goa: I always dreamed of settling for good in Goa, owning a place that serves as a library in the day time and doubles up as a movie bar at nights. This place would give the customers unlimited beer for the night, along with a couple of movies of their choice, couches to spend the night over, all fixed at an entry price. The catch, however, is that the customers have to clear a quiz, obviously prepared by me, on the movies they choose to watch. And, I brew the beer myself.

3.     Make at least one movie: I’m fascinated by movies, so it is but natural to think of making a movie at some point of time. Though, I don’t think I’m talented or equipped enough to make a movie now, I think I will make one eventually, certainly in a befiqar life. I will write, produce and direct the film and hire others to handle everything else. I really don’t care about the success or failure of it. If possible, I may make more, but to make at least one would be on my bucket list till the date I strike it off.

4.     Start a Book Publishing Company: Every blogger worth his salt will like to have his book published, and I’m no different from any of them. I want to see my book published, and once I’m satisfied with my work, I would also like to start a publishing company to encourage bloggers and writers. Needless to say, I get to be the judge of the manuscripts submitted, if ever there will be any.

5.    A Road Trip Throughout India: I’m not an adventurous person, or an avid biker, so I don’t know how I ever plan to go about this India tour, but this is something that is always on my mind. The trip would start without any money, hitching rides, travelling in complete anonymity, without a care for anyone or anything in the world. This is basically to see if there is anything that I’m good enough to learn from my travels.

With the exception of the first item, even if I achieve any one of the other 4, I would feel a lot of inner peace on my deathbed.
